Extreme Makeover Home Edition has come to town. The popular television show is building a new house for the Almquist family. The long-time residents have taken upon themselves to rescue wild animals that would otherwise have nowhere else to go. Their Forever Wild Exotic Animal Sanctuary includes nine tigers, three sulcata tortoises, three parrots, 10 alligators, four servals, four Mexican beaded lizards, two Siberian lynx and one Egyptian cobra. They have done a great job in their rescue efforts but the high cost of meat of feed has taken its toll on their house. You can see the folks and volunteers build a new home for the Almquist family at 8545 Buttemere Road in Phelan California 92371. Spectators are welcome between 8a.m. -7p.m. Monday, February 2nd-7th. The public is welcome to come see the work and take pictures of their progress. On the Fox Network this week we might get a chance to see local Phelan resident Stevie Wright perform on American Idol. The 16 year old Wright is a student at Serrano High School. Paula Abdul, a judge on the show, praised Wrights voice control. Tune in to Fox Tuesday through Thursday this week.
